Mosaic Forest Management
A natural resources company with an environmental and community focus.
Client
Mosaic Forest Management is a leader in sustainable timberlands management, created through the affiliation of Island Timberlands and TimberWest (in 2018), and has operated on the coast of British Columbia, Canada, for more than 100 years.
Mosaic employs several thousand people, directly and indirectly, who live, work and play in local Vancouver Island and Coastal BC communities. The new company will share resources, and align efforts to provide enhanced forest stewardship: more innovative, responsive, and efficient.
Process
The forestry sector, including Mosaic, has recently faced considerable challenges and shifts, notably due to evolving market dynamics and geopolitical pressures. This environment highlighted the critical need for forest products companies to become more adaptable. To address this, Mosaic partnered with Herald for a brand audit, aimed at ensuring the company is well-positioned to meet current customer needs while simultaneously fostering a more sustainable and robust future. This process culminated in Mosaic's adoption of a new brand strategy and a modern visual identity.
This new organization would need to inspire new excitement while building on the successes of the both. With significant competitors in the region, and a high level of community visibility, the brand needed to be clear, compelling, and trustworthy. The brand needed to show this new organization to be an accessible partner, willing to work for the community as well as sound business principles.
