Innovation Canada provides funds and services that help Canadian businesses innovate, create jobs, and grow Canada’s economy. Their goal is to provide a single point of access to find, apply to, and manage the full breadth of Canada’s supports programs and services for innovation projects.

They asked us to help them with a brand that would help them deliver on this promise. This is a official program, backed by all the resources of the government. But also a different experience - more service-focused, less red tape, more of the kind of support you need.

“Whatever you do, however you do it, we have a program for you—and we’ll help you find it. Because your success is our success—so we’re all in.”

It’s all about the innovators. Innovation Canada doesn’t exist to promote its own agenda—it is purpose-built to empower the people it services. This is reflected in the brand’s imagery, which is focused on innovators, their projects, their emotions, their individual journeys. It is also reflected in the language, which speaks to innovators about innovation before it speaks about itself. This is how the brand demonstrates understanding and empathy—and those demonstrations are how IC builds trusting relationships with innovators.
